My arms...
My forearms are hurting with every movement of my fingers. So right now I'm creating this blog with pain, literally. I took an offday from work yesterday to go to Ponggol. I went Wakeboarding! Yes, I finally did it. After like...I forgot how many years of procrastination. Jeez, I was so nervous about it when I went into the water I swallowed a couple mouthfuls. Didn't know lang kao zui (or was it a river?) also salty one. Not bad the instructor says...for a guy. Amanda (the instructor) said that it was usually harder to teach guys to wakeboard cos they usually use too much strength when they're not supposed to. Carol told me before its because guys usually don't listen to the instructions. Hm.... I'm a soldier so following instructions has been my ricebowl for some time. And I haven't been exercising much so that probably explains the strength part, I couldn't have overexerted myself even if I wanted to...I'm weak liao! Hahaha. Jokes aside; wakeboarding was really fun though. You can fall on your face and it wouldn't hurt as much as falling face first on concrete. I managed to stand on my second try but I couldn't ride until the third. Urgh, I miss the times when sports and exercises were so easy to pick up. I couldn't get my posture right at all. My butt kept sticking out like I'm a desperate whore who is having a bad day and really eager to get some attention and business. Not cool...definitely. Carol made fun of me..."I thought your hips very flexible when you're dancing? Now stiff is it?" (somewhere along the line...I really couldn't be bothered to remember) I really need to get my body in shape and have my flexibility back. I don't want to look like a deep frozen chicken on a wakeboard again. (Perhaps that was the reason in the first place I procrastinated...)
Anyway, besides wakeboarding, something else made me happy. I met an old friend by chance in a restaurant!!! Its none other than Ken, my ex sec school-mate. Boy, do I miss this fella. We were so close back when we were around 16, the whole group of boys. We had a helluva time making fun of teachers (got a couple of them crying), playing soccer and basketball after school, working for an insurance company while waiting for our 'O' results (Winterthur if I remember correctly) and going for Tae Kwon Do. I even 'camped' at Ken's place for a couple of days. Learnt a little Jap culture from Ken's mum, played with his cat... I WANT TO GO BACK IN TIME!!! Life was so carefree back then... (I'm not gay for getting warm fuzzy feelings when I meet old friends.)
About my last blog, a few people said I actually blog better when I'm intoxicated. Well, good news people! Al is officially part of the team despite violent objections from the brain department and liver department. Though his pay is higher than mine... I'm sure many of you would like his presence around once in a while. He's sitting in my fridge now with a green T-shirt that says 'Carlsberg' right now. See? He's even got free accomodation!Lucky B@stard...
